SIMBA
Simba's Biograpy
Simba is the protagonist in Disney's the Lion King. He is a young lion on the path to the throne when his journey is interrupted by the death of his father. Simba is the son of Mufasa and Sarabi and the newphew of Scar. He is also "betrothed" to Nala, who later in the movie, as planned, becomes his mate [7]. Throughout the movie, we watch Simba grow up, therefore his personality does a complete 360. He goes from a curious cub to a mature, responsible king. That doesn't go without saying, he definitely had some bumps along the way. |

Simba as Moses
It may not seem to be the most obvious comparison, but there are a fair about of similarities between Moses and Simba. Both ran away to the desert after being accused of murder. Moses was found and rescued by Jethro and Simba was found by Timon and Pumbaa. With the people they stayed with, they learned new ways of life; Simba learning Hakuna Matata and Moses learning the word of God. The two spent time away from where they originally grew up and faced a huge moment that made them return home. For Simba, he saw his father who told him he had forgotten his place in the circle of life (View clip on left) and Nala found him in the jungle and pleaded him to come back with her. Moses was visited by God in a burning bush and was asked to go back to Egypt and save his people. Following these confrontations, that two return to their homes, Simba to the pride lands and Moses to Egypt. Both defeated their enemies and completed what they had set out to do (returning peace to the pride lands and freeing the slaves). Although Simba did live to gain his rule over the pride lands as King, Moses did not live to see the Promised Land. [10] |
